so the final line from the 2010 blog was . . . . . .
Maybe I will bring the blog back to life for brazil in 4 years time - let's hope it's a much changed and improved England team by then!!
All the hopes of July 2010 , dashed on the rocks of reality (pretty much constantly between then and now) of January 2014
Meh! Its just as well i am not going solely for Champagne England football!

A few thoughts on Rio
I hadn't ever planned on going to the 2014 World Cup - and used England's friendly in the Maracana in June 2013 as the final reason i needed - NOT to go!
Then came the World Cup draw last month - and everything changed. Why? I haven't the faintest idea - its not like we got an easy group, or fantastic destinations!
I will do a blog on Rio at some point between now and the world cup final - as its not in my plans to go there again (as good as it was).
Ok - a couple of thoughts on Rio . . . . .
Firstly, like Cuba, there are many sightings of "The Lord" - so the Brazilians must be very disappointed that the Papacy went to their bitter rivals and neighbours, Argentina!
I only begin to imagine how many daschunds there must be per square mile in Buenos Aries!
Perhaps i will go and find out!!
Secondly - the street vendors / hawkers have got it sorted - when its sunny they sell umbrellas, and when its rainy they sell umbrellas. From my experience there - its generally doing one or the other!
Finally - i had hoped to do this blog under the same banner as the original South Africa adventure (stoufferthedog.blogspot) - but it proved impossible to log into my old account - thanks google / gmail / blogspot / microsoft, and trying to retrieve passwords etc had me tearing my hair out!!
